Biography
Sam is qualified as a solicitor both in the courts of England and Wales and Queensland is Head of Division, UK and Americas for the Standard Club being responsible for claims and underwriting in the US, Canada, South America and the UK. He also represents The Standard Club on the International Group’s maritime security, salvage and Federal Maritime Commission subcommittees, and piracy and large casualty working groups
Sam regularly speaks at shipping industry events across the world, both on behalf of The Standard Club and The International Group of P&I Clubs. He brings his presentations to life by drawing on the rich vein of experience he has gained through having been involved in some of the world’s largest, most complex and technically-demanding wreck removal operations. Sam spearheaded the club’s responses to the MSC Chitra, MV Rena, Costa Concordia and Amadeo I casualties and provides ongoing advice and support to colleagues at the club in relation to casualty management.
